M&E Mission: Climate Action in Ghana & Gambia
As part of the Low Grant Funding Project by the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre (EYSDC), National Volunteering Agencies in the ECOWAS region have been driving impactful environmental projects. With funding support, The World View, The Gambia, and the Coalition of Volunteering Organizations (COVOG), Ghana, implemented key climate resilience initiatives—leading to our recent Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) mission.
🌿 Gambia: Mangrove Restoration
✅ 14,800 mangroves planted to combat coastal erosion & store carbon
✅ Training for locals in sustainable livelihoods (oyster harvesting, beekeeping, seafood preservation)
✅ Boosted biodiversity & strengthened coastal resilience
♻ Ghana: Waste Management & Agriculture
✅ over 100 youth engaged to prevent improper waste disposal
✅ Sanitation improvements, reducing cholera outbreaks & benefiting 300+ households
✅ Tree planting & vegetable farming on 2 acres, engaging 60-100 youth
This mission reinforced the power of volunteerism in climate action.
